WHATASHIELD has partnered with the Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency (IRMA) to bring proactive VOC protection to fire departments across IRMA's member communities. Firefighting is now recognized as a leading cause of occupational cancer — and much of that risk comes from VOCs that get absorbed into turnout gear, apparatus, and station surfaces instead of ever being addressed. WHATASHIELD's PFAS-free treatment rips those VOCs apart instead of masking them, powered by nothing but oxygen in the air, working 24/7 whether or not there's time to clean. Together, WHATASHIELD and IRMA are helping departments move from reactive cleanup to proactive protection for the people who protect our communities.
